Prospect Place
A neighborhood redevelopment project in an old mill location, Prospect Place was conceived to fill the need for entry level housing in Stonington, Connecticut. Taking its architectural queue from the vernacular of local turn-of-the-century mill housing, Prospect Place blends seamlessly within its neighborhood while incorporating cost-effective sustainable materials and high performance energy saving systems.
Designed and built by Evergreen, this 38 unit subdivision developed by Prospect Northeast Development, LLC has been embraced by neighbors, town planners, and the historic commission for its part in helping with revitalization efforts of this important Pawcatuck neighborhood.
Evergreen was tasked with helping our client develop plans to construct appealing and cost-effective housing to meet the needs of the entry level and aging market, and developed a series of two and four family units with open floor plans, generous proportions, and appealing finish materials. Recognizing the evolving marketplace, we also advised our client to incorporate important green features into the project, including building the units to Energy Star standards.
Energy Star qualified homes are independently verified to meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the US Environmental Protection Agency. These homes save money on utility bills, provide a more comfortable living environment with better indoor air quality, and help protect the environment. Evergreen has completed Phase 1 of the Prospect Place project, with all 22 units Energy Star certified. The well constructed units are tightly sealed, very well insulated, include high performance windows, are heated and cooled with 95% efficient natural gas furnaces, and are equipped with Energy Star appliances and lighting. |
